Lavender–which is in season from late spring through the summer until almost fall–is such a perfect wedding flower. It smells amazing, and the color makes for a great accent in everything from your groom’s boutonniere to your speciality cocktails and dessert. (Have you ever had lavender ice cream? It’s pretty amazing.) It’s also considered an inexpensive wedding flower, since you can buy a decent-sized wedding bouquet for around $10 (Save on Crafts has some great deals on dried lavender by the bunch or pound). So, basically, we want to marry it.
We went searching for ways to use lavender at your wedding, and came up with these great finds. I would definitely consider using the flower at rustic wedding venues (such as barns or a working farm) as well as garden ceremonies and receptions. It’s also beautiful at beach wedding venues, too! Check out our favorite ways to use lavender, below.

Lavender is a sturdy flower, which means it works perfectly as an escort card holder.
It’s a gorgeously rustic accent for wedding cakes, too.

Have guests toss lavender instead of rice or rose petals. Or, you can use bags like this as a sachet wedding favor (I love that idea!)

Speaking of wedding favors, give guests lavender seeds in mini pots to plant and remember your wedding every year when it blooms. 🙂
